Building Bridges: Fullerton Construction

The biggest names in construction in the Shady City the Fullerton family firmly established themselves as the premier provider of construction and demolition services. With the monumental Fullerton bridge to their names no one can argue their reputation for knowing how to build sound structures. They are also responsible for the building of other notable buildings in Coldford such as the Faulds Park Building, the WEIR HOTEL and the BECKINGRIDGE TOWER.

A large family the Fullertons are known to have their fingers in a lot of different pies around the city. Brothers Jake and Caleb head the construction contracts, whilst their sister Jenna makes her name in the adult film industry. Until recently matriarch grandma, Lynette Fullerton sat the top of the family table but unfortunately she was one of the fallen 59 in the event known as the FREE FALL MASSACRE.

They are an old money family from the wealthy town of Filton. Keen to show pride in their town they have ownership of one of the University teams. They aim of which is to build bridges between the two main institutions of higher learning in the city.

Located in the CHAMBERLAIN DOCKS area of SWANTIN in the south of the city, Harbour House Clinic is a stand out feature in the area. With a beautiful expanse of gardens to one side and the main port to the Hathfield Bay islands on the other, Harbour House is the perfect place for recovery.

At Harbour House the residents can enjoy peace and serenity. Most of them are survivors or trauma or recovering from surgery.

Some of the residents are once pillars of the community who have grown tired. At Harbour House they will find the motivation they need.

Longer term residents of Harbour House require special care. The caring and committed staff are all too happy to provide.

Despite having the best psychiatric nurses and doctors on staff, CEO DR G WINSLOW states that it is not an institute but a rehabilitation clinic.

Skeletons in the Closet: Beckingridge Manor

An old property in the affluent town of FILTON. It has been in the BECKINGRIDGE family for generations. With more rooms than would ever be required it is a distinctive building that sits at the head of the town. Home to ERNEST and his sister ELIZABETH BECKINGRIDGE , along with Ernest’s children, his wife, Alice, having died.

Some cut offs of police tape can be found in the bushes surrounding it from the days it was closed of as a crime scene. Now that is all anyone in the town ever sees of it. It was the first thing music tutor VINCENT noticed too when he was appointed to teach the younger Beckingridge, George.

Elizabeth seeks a tutor in the hopes music lessons will give her nephew something positive to focus on.

It is a beautiful home but never had it been a happy one. Murder, madness and resentment in the air. Despite Elizabeth’s best efforts to create a home after the business with Alice it will always be cold. Even having money to burn won’t heat it up.

A husband and wife team. Mr and Mrs Heath are the dynamo duo of the BECKINGRIDGE FINANCIAL FIRM. They are the leading investment consultants and have brought more clients in in their time that most of the other long standing members of the team.

The live fast. They sell hard. They fall far.

They enjoy a fancy life in the expensive FILTON district. In order to keep that up though someone has to pay. That’s where the wide smiles for their clients come in. They will sit you down, offer you a cup of tea and before the end of the meeting you will be rest assured that your money is in the safest hands in the Shady City. After all, with a son, Taylor, to put through University the Heaths know the importance of money and the family unit.

BECKINGRIDGE TOWER may seem intimidating, cold and soulless even but let the Heaths explain the exciting vision they have for your money and you will feel like you are in your own living room. You will become part of the Beckingridge family.

When you are the biggest financial institution in the Shady City it makes you a target for those who look to gain by any means necessary.

Ernest Beckingridge didn’t want any of it. He wanted to be a magician but Gramps scoffed at the idea so he was shackled into a suit, a power tie wrapped around his neck and locked in the dungeon that was the penthouse office of Beckingridge Tower.

Standing as one of the tallest buildings in the city, Beckingridge Tower is home to the wealth of the most powerful families of Coldford including WEIR, OWEN, and DOYLE. It takes a pretty big place to hold that kind of responsibility.

The financial industry in Coldford is often called the Shark Tank and you need pretty sharp teeth to swim the waters successfully. This was something poor Ernest couldn’t cope with. The final nail in his meek coffin came when the firm came under attack and fifty nine clients and staff were pushed from the Tower’s top floor in an event known as the Free Fall Massacre.

Ernest Beckingridge describes a phone call in the middle of the night that alerted him to the Free Fall Massacre.

With the firm leadership in contention the richest powerhouse in Coldford could either fall to Ernest’s sister ELIZABETH, better known as the Dragon Lady for her eccentricity and her temper or his son GEORGE, famous for being kidnapped by his music teacher, having a body count by age eight and last seen pledging KAPPA SO.

As a grown up George still keeps the stuffed animal he named Cecil close.

Led by the identical triplet sons of REGINALD Penn – MARCUS, SIMON and REGGIE – the Auction House is the ruling power of City Main. The Penn family holds high esteem across the city.

Having come to Coldford City from the country of Luen, blue blood runs through the veins of the Penn family. The first recorded noble of their family was the Marquis Phillipe de Penn, a wealthy merchant who through his service to the crown was granted the land where Main now stands.

Centuries later, when the first Great War broke, head of the Auction House, Marquis Adelard de Penn, Reginald’s grandfather, led the people through recession, through the women fighting for their right to vote and prepared to protect them should the Great War spill onto their shores.

This selfless devotion did not go unnoticed. It was the Loyalists of Luen who took to the streets by theirs sides, not the crown. The people began to cry Adelard as their king.

The reigning Chamberlain family were furious when they heard this. Adelard Penn was accused of treason and his honourable marquis titles were removed. The auction house nobleman stood his ground. The Penn family and their Loyalists had held their land for centuries. It became the kingdom of Main.

Despite having it’s dark side the Auction House also holds sway in the city through generosity. The mother, Rita, gave a lot to the HEADLINER fund, a charitable organisation set up by the BARONESS of the KNOCK KNOCK club. Rita herself treated as the most precious item to ever grace the house.

Notable items held by the Penns includes artist, DAVID FINN with Reggie (the youngest) being a huge fan of his work.

The Best Bite: Bobby’s Lunch Box

An afternoon hub for reporters in the Shady City. It’s were journalists for the large publications such as the COLDFORD DAILY and the Coldford Express come for their coffee, lunch and more often than not interviews with potential informants.

It is a well known den for reporters and it’s busy City Main location is perfect for being so bustling it allows interviews and information to be shared without attracting much attention. Sitting behind the COLDFORD CITY stadium, when the football crowds start to pour through it makes an even better place to go on the record.

Owned and operated by Bobby Diorra, the unassuming man has managed to remain a quiet presence in Main for many years.

Bobby himself is a close friend of our reporter, SAM. He has watched on from Sam’s first days at the Daily to his current expose on the KNOCK KNOCK CLUB. He is very familiar with other reporters like MADELINE too having saw them really bite for that all important story.

A Coast to Boast: Chamberlain Docks

Down in the South East, SWANTIN area of the Shady City lies the Chamberlain Docks. It is where you can catch the HAULAGE ferry to HATHFIELD BAY ISLANDS and further beyond to the sunny coastal city of LUEN if you’ve got the cash.

Swantin is known as the fashionable area of town. It has a trendy wine bars, boutiques and it is also home of the SWANTIN TOWN football team. Despite the glamour of the area there is a dark cloud that hangs over the docks – the looming, distinctive profile of HARBOUR HOUSE. Some call it a psychiatric institute. CEO and owner DR G WINSLOW calls it a rehabilitation clinic for those who have faced trauma.

Happy Hathfielders and Coldford day trippers fill the docks and whilst the cheery travellers come and go no attention is paid to the illegal goods that are arriving regularly. Drugs, counterfeit money, human trafficking.

As the bustling day at the docks darkens down into night it’s not advisable to wander. It may be the fashionable part of the city but it can also be one of the most dangerous ones after dark. It’s the best place for prostitutes to ply their trade and who knows what you may pick up!

It’s the part of the Shady City where the law is upheld. In a city torn apart by corruption and a greed for power a need for order is more important than ever. It takes a very special kind of person  to hold the seat of judgement because you will be up against murderers, thieves, kidnappers and let’s face it some of the most ruthless villains ever to ply their trade.

The Court Houses are feared in the SHADY CITY. With a lot of evil doings allowed to slide, especially when you have the privilege of a powerful family name (OWEN perhaps?), it takes some extreme crimes to have the High Court involved and when the JUDGE DOYLE’s Bailiffs come hunting you you can rest assured JUSTICE will be served.

Working closely with COLDFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT it seems an uphill struggle to rid the city of wrong doers, especially when most times its hard to tell who the real evil is. But rest assured, those who don’t obey the JUDGE’s laws will have their day in court.

The second UNIVERSITY team in the city, Fullerton claim supremacy over their rivals at KINGSGATE by their Sport Science program whose research has benefited larger teams such as COLDFORD CITY and ATHLETIC. Graduates of the sports science course include BUDDY OWEN, although some would argue this was not without his father, THE CAPPY’s, money and influence. The backing of his brother’s at KAPPA SO also helped.

As a football team Fullerton are quite consistent. They rarely manage to quash the big two but they keep their heads high and are a constant feature on the stages of the bigger competitions. The bridge on their badge is representative of the FULLERTON BRIDGE which connects the rich town of FILTON in the north to the rest of the city.

Our most notable supporter of Fullerton is the BOSS LADY herself. She may be Queen of the Shanties but her roots in Filton are never forgotten.
