The Mack Distillery, located on Love Street in Bellfield.

Growing up as the only daughter of Brendan and Annie Mack, Siobhan was given the chance to live a carefree life. As she grew up she paid far more attention to her namesake distillery than her family realised. Seen as the party girl she was never given the credit for having a mind for the business.

Having faced a great deal of tragedy in her life Siobhan was thrust into the leadership role. In that role she thrived and prove she was far more than the little sister. She demonstrated her intelligence and her shrewdness. Unlike her fiery tempered brothers she kept her calm and realised the only way the distillery would ever move forward would be to adjust.

The Mack and Sons brand still has a great deal to do to bring themselves back from the brink but with Siobhan at the helm they stand every chance of doing just that.

The Booze Riots

The MACK AND SONS Distillery has been a feature of the town of BELLFIELD for generations. Owned now by the Mack family, the Macks have earned the respect of the community through time. They are highly regarded. Roguish, like most of the townspeople but filled to the brim with community spirit.

During the Great Wars of last century the distillery gates had been closed, protecting the town, providing the rations. At the time it was the Colbine Gasworks that had the area, for which Sean Mack worked. As the city pulled itself together again the Office of LAWMAKERS called a ban on all alcohol products in Greater COLDFORD. The already desperate city saw cause to be outraged and riots sparked from City Main to the farthest reaches of Bellfield. The people wanted their booze. After the Great Wars people wanted to numb their memories and prepare to rebuild. The Law Makers would not be pushed. The flow of alcohol was causing violence, domestic and city wide. The riots were testament to that. They needed what was left of the work force fresh and able bodied. The health care couldn’t afford to keep drunkards.

In a shed within Cobine, Sean Mack began to brew his own booze. His speciality was a whiskey recipe that was passed to him by his grandfather. When Cobine himself discovered what the non conformist was up to he was delighted. Soon, Sean was providing booze for the entire city, causing him to have to bring in his sons – Darragh and Callum – In to help. And so this formed the original Mack and Sons. The distillery grew around Cobine and is now a huge feature of Love Street in Bellfield.

Take the Edge Off: The Mack Distillery

Features in: KNOCK KNOCK

Located in the Shanties area of the Shady City the Mack Distillery is a huge feature of the unique look of the south. Employing thousands from the poorest areas the Mack and Sons brand stands for working class values and treats its hard working factory operators like family.

img_0590

It  is overlooked by PADDY MACK, the second generation of Macks to run the distillery in the Shady City. It began it’s life as a small factory in BELLFIELD, to the west of Coldford, but their uniquely bottled whiskey became such a sensation the brand quickly grew and flourished. They supply large super market chains headed by the HARVESTER brand but their main claim to some infamy is their supply to the KNOCK KNOCK CLUB. They lost some of their team during an attack on the club back when it was in the hands of the old Baroness. The Mack boys tend to bury their grudges and bury them deep.

Moving forward the Mack and Sons Distillery is being led by Paddy into a new age of peace but when the filth of Shady City is targeting your brew it may not be so easy to keep your hands clean. Time to stir it up.

Character Profile: Paddy (Patrick) Mack

“The Devil will have to be pretty feckin’ quick to catch me.”

Name: Patrick ‘Paddy’ Mack

Occupation: Manager Mack and Son’s whiskey distillery

Features in; KNOCK KNOCK ; THE BOSS

One of five Mack children born to Brendan and Anne Mack. Paddy is the second eldest of his three brothers (Kieran, Aiden, Alfie) and his sister (Siobhan). He is seen as the most competent to lead the Distillery. He is the most level headed of the Macks but he isn’t without the skills and endurance it requires to run such a tough industry in the Shady City. The MACK DISTILLERY has been supplying the KNOCK KNOCK CLUB since it’s founding and as a result Paddy (AKA Patrick) has a steady working relationship with the Boss Lady TABITHA.

Son Paddy shows pride in the team.

Paddy is a good looking, kind natured man but with the roguish charm one would expect from the Bellfield area. He and his brothers are the biggest supporters of football club BELLFIELD FC. The fans of the club had gotten such a terrible reputation after riots started at an away match it was up to Paddy to step in and shut the violence down so that the team that his distillery sponsored wasn’t removed from the league completely.

The explosions around the city linked to the HEADLINERS are rumoured to have been assisted and in fact provided by the Mack’s and their factory workers. Although, Paddy is attempting to bring them into a more peaceful era things in Shady City won’t improve unless he is willing to show a little strength through violence.
